The 2023 Franco Cuomo Award Shines a Spotlight on Europe: This prestigious award, named in honor of the late writer, journalist, and playwright Franco Cuomo who passed away in 2007, is under the distinguished leadership of Velia Iacovino and Alberto Cuomo.
This remarkable initiative, a collaborative effort with the “Per il Meglio della Puglia” Association, led by Piero Gambale, is dedicated to the promotion of innovative forms of cultural, social, and human expression, in keeping with the legacy of Cuomo. He was a perceptive and cultured intellectual known for his ability to analyze human actions and the world from various perspectives. Cuomo chronicled his era through his journalism, historical accounts, novels, and theatrical works.
This year, in the field of entertainment, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented in two categories: Cinema and Literature. The prestigious accolade was bestowed upon Pupi Avati.
