77262-400x265-Healthy_Eating_PlansIn the last months, the case for nutrition has been very much in fashion. In almost every magazine you can now find some DIY diets or nutritional advices, more or less valid. The thing is, though: are we aware of what we eat?

In many cases, the answer is no. We often go on trendy or unbalanced diets and we end up lacking important nutritional elements, leaving room to dangerous breakdowns and damaging not just the body, but also the mind.

The hurrying rhythm of our lives offers many chances of being vulnerable to breakdowns. Socially and mentally, one of the most important dysfunctional factors is stress at work. This represents a threat for the wellbeing and health of workers first, but also for efficiency and productivity. A recent survey conducted in Europe shows that 91% of European workers thinks that stress at work is dangerous and 44% of them admit feeling very stressed. According to another research conducted on a panel of 300 heterogeneous workers, 47% of entrepreneurs claim being stressed and state that this impacts on their productivity.

The problem is at the baseline. Respect others means respecting ourselves first, creating an ecosystem of awareness to help us seeing, observing and interpreting weaknesses and strengths.

This topic is outmost relevant when talking about higher education. The idea of well-being is a crucial element to harmonically raise the professionals of tomorrow. The two spheres, the physical and the mental one, should be “trained” together. Just like sport training is unbalanced if we train the muscles of one arm or leg only, leaving the other and leading to a non-harmonic body, university should be a platform for students to train every aspects of their personality.

Harmony is important. This is the reason why we established a community garden in the viale Romania campus, why we give students credits for volunteering activities, why a prestigious theoretical education is paired with soft skills courses.

We believe that, as well as bad habits, good habits can be infectious and we want students to be “infected” by best practices of others, and to be aware that they can learn from multiple sources, not just from teachers. We aim at reaching a large learning, nourished by diverse elements and harmonic.
