Italian National Police, Luiss Guido Carli University, Assosharing, and ACI – Automobile Club of Italy have joined forces, signing a Memorandum of Understanding to develop initiatives for the promotion of road safety.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Police and Director General of Public Security, Vittorio Pisani, the President of ACI, Angelo Sticchi Damiani, and the President of Assosharing, Matteo Tanzilli.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to promote a culture of safe driving through awareness-raising initiatives targeted at the entire Luiss community, including students, teachers, staff, and collaborators. Informative and educational paths on road safety will be organized, thus enriching the educational experience of the students.

The first activities will take place during Freshers’ Week, from September 4 to 8, 2023. During this week, university students and high school students participating in the Luiss Summer School will have the opportunity to participate in practical actions and interactive lessons on road safety.

Starting from the next academic year, the Traffic Police will carry out educational interventions dedicated to the prevention of road accidents. The interventions will include the use of the Blue Bus of the State Police, a traveling multimedia classroom equipped with simulators, viewers, and special equipment that reproduce the effect of driving while intoxicated, raising awareness among drivers about the risks deriving from incorrect driving behaviors.

ACI activities will focus on promoting responsible and sustainable mobility, while companies associated with Assosharing will be involved in test-drives and theoretical and practical demonstrations to develop a safe driving approach, even with shared vehicles.

This project, bringing together several important actors, underscores the importance of collaboration between academic institutions, law enforcement agencies, and civil organizations in promoting road safety.
